Installation Standard for Bulk Hydrogen Supply Systems

 


Scope This standard contains suggested minimum installation standards for bulk hydrogen supply systems.  It is intended to provide a model process for installing hydrogen supply systems, by addressing large cryogenic hydrogen systems and gaseous systems up to 15,000 psig at commercial facilities.

 


Abstract

This standard contains suggested minimum installation standards for bulk hydrogen supply systems.  It is intended to provide recommendations for installing hydrogen supply systems.  The standard covers the entire process:

  • Site selection,

  • Equipment selection,

  • Regulatory compliance,

  • Equipment transportation and setting,

  • Equipment installation,

  • System start-up,

  • Operation, and

  • System removal.

The standard also provides Health & Safety considerations.
Typical system flow diagrams are included.

In May 2011, H-5 was proposed for development as an American National Standard and will be revised under the ANSI Essential Requirements. The H-5 ANSI Committee is currently seeking participants in the producer, user, general interest, and standards development organization categories.
