Hydrogen Generators using
Water Electrolysis Process
ISO 22734

Scope Part I – Industrial and Commercial Application

This standard defines the construction, safety and performance requirements for hydrogen gas generation                         appliances using electrochemical reactions to electrolyze water to produce hydrogen and oxygen.

It is applicable to hydrogen generators that use the following types of ion transport medium:

·       Group of aqueous bases

·       Solid polymeric materials acidic function group such as proton exchange membrane (PEM)

This standard excludes generators that can also be used to generate electricity. It is intended to be used for  certification purposes.

Part 2 – Residential Applications

Status Part 1

ISO 22734-1:2008 published June 2008.

Undergoing systematic review. US TAG suggested to vote by August 26, 2011.

Part 2
